Below you can find care instructions for all of the products from Studio CN, for any further enquiries please contact Studio CN.
Prints
Studio CN prints are digitally Giclee printed which will ensure it to last for a long time. As with all cherished products please handle your print with care. Avoid touching the front of the print when mounting in a frame as this could create yellow marks in time (use latex gloves if you have them). Please also keep your print away from direct sunlight, frame it with UV-resistant glass if possible. Your piece is printed with a 1cm white border around it for easy mounting, handle with care if you ever need to change over a frame or take it out. When mounting your print please ensure your area is free from dust and damp.
Ceramics
All Studio CN ceramics are produced in a stoneware clay that fires between 1245-1260 degrees Celcius. Each piece is glazed with a food-safe glaze, made from durable materials & suitable for use in a dishwasher or microwave. As with any precious ceramics, please handwash when possible and use with care.
Wood
Hand-wash wooden utensils with warm soapy water. Do not put wooden utensils and cutting boards in the dishwasher, it will result in cracks and graining in the wood. Blot freshly washed wooden utensils with a clean dishtowel. Let the wood air-dry completely before putting them away & periodically rub them with mineral oil or a beeswax compound for best longevity. Be careful when using wooden utensils and boards with highly pigmented foods, this will stain the wood and might create an unwanted colour. If your wooden utensils develop spotted stains or roughness, please rub away with a piece of fine sandpaper. Oil the surface afterwards with mineral oil or a beeswax compound and seal by rubbing the wood with another piece of wood.
Original Art
Fineliner | Ballpoint
When you purchase an original piece made with a ballpoint pen or fine liner, the ink used is fade-proof on 200gsm cartridge paper which will allow the ink to settle and remain darker for an extended period. I'd recommend keeping your original piece away from direct sunlight and framing it with UV-resistant glass if possible. This is to make sure your piece is safe and will last for a long time. All my work is finished with a settling spray which helps prevent any dust or marks appearing. Please avoid touching the front of your piece when handling, this could create yellow marks in time (use latex gloves if you have them) and affect the settling spray.
Pencil | Charcoal
An original piece made with a pencil or charcoal on 200gsm cartridge paper is finished with a settling spray which helps prevent any dust or marks appearing. When mounting your piece avoid touching the front, as this could smudge or destroy areas of the artwork. In time, it could also create yellow marks, use latex gloves if you have them. Hang your original piece away from direct sunlight and frame it with UV-resistant glass if possible. This is to make sure your piece is safe and will last for a long time.
Watercolour
Original pieces made in watercolour, different kinds of paper are used depending on the piece, please see your product description for correct details. Hang your piece away from direct sunlight and frame it with UV-resistant glass if possible. This is to make sure your piece is safe and will last for a long time. Each piece is finished with a settling spray which helps prevent any dust or marks appearing. Please avoid touching the front of your piece when handling, this could create yellow marks in time (use latex gloves if you have them). Hanging your piece away from household pollutants and high humidity areas is recommended.
Acrylic
Acrylic paintings come mounted on a framework unless otherwise has been agreed with the customer. All paintings will have a layer of transparent high gloss resin varnish protecting the painting from minor damage. Please, do not lean anything against the canvas & do not lean the canvas against sharp objects. If mounting/framing your piece without a protective layer of glass please only clean with a duster or damp soft cotton cloth. Even though the acrylic resin will protect from UV-light please avoid hanging your piece in direct sunlight as this will affect colours in time.
